Shortly after arriving in Kingston with dreams of being a reggae star, country boy Ivan (Jimmy Cliff) finds himself watching a screening of “D’Jango” (the story of “a coffin-dragging gunslinger caught between two feuding factions—the KKK and a gang of Mexican bandits”). The title hero of this Western becomes the template for Ivan’s drug-slinging alter-ego.
